What Is Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP)?
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is a spray-dried polymer emulsion that readily redisperses in water, forming a stable polymer film within cement- or gypsum-based systems.
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP), also known as **Redispersible Latex Powder**, **VAE Powder**, or **Polymer Binder Powder**, is a key functional additive used in dry mix mortar and construction chemicals. It is widely applied in tile adhesives, wall putty, self-leveling compounds, EIFS, repair mortars, gypsum-based products, and waterproof mortars.
When mixed with cement, sand, gypsum, or other dry ingredients, RDP enhances both the fresh and hardened properties of mortar. It improves flexibility, bonding strength, impact resistance, and long-term durability while maintaining excellent workability.
Because of these advantages, RDP has become one of the most important additives in modern dry mix mortar formulations.
